Hi, I’m Betty.

I came to this work because I understand, in a personal way, what it means to carry things that are hard to name and harder to put down.

I'm a person-centred psychodynamic therapist, and I love working with people who are ready to turn inward. People who are curious about themselves, their patterns, their personality, and all the things quietly shaping how they think, feel and behave. That inner journey is where the real work happens, and it's work I genuinely love to do.

Over the years I've sat with people in some of their most difficult moments. Times when everything feels too heavy or too confusing to make sense of alone. That experience has shaped how I show up in a session: steady, present and not in any hurry to fix things.

Alongside my private practice I work in crisis support and residential recovery, sitting with people through complex mental health challenges, addiction and the lasting weight of difficult life experiences. I've worked with people from all kinds of backgrounds, and what that's taught me, more than anything, is how to meet someone exactly where they are without judgement or agenda.

My approach is trauma-informed and holistic. We look at the patterns shaping how you think, feel and relate, and we do that slowly, at a pace that feels safe for you. I hold a Master of Counselling, I'm registered with PACFA, and I have specialist training in suicide intervention, crisis support and bereavement counselling, including several years working with Griefline supporting people through loss.

Finding the right person to talk to matters. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am.

I work relationally. The connection between us matters, and I take that seriously. Creating a space where you genuinely feel safe isn’t just something I say. It’s the foundation that makes everything else possible.

What I Offer.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities and bring them together in whatever way best serves you. These include psychodynamic and trauma-informed frameworks, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt, Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Compassion Focused Therapy, and somatic and mindfulness-based practices.

In every session I’m led by you. Your pace, your needs, what feels right on any given day. You’ll find me present, attuned and genuinely invested in how you’re going.
